Never compromise on recruitment - you will regret it!

Our recruitment and selection course is the perfect combination of theory (30%) and practical application (70%) enabling delegates to develop both the knowledge, confidence and skills required to recruit, and most importantly to transfer their learning into the workplace with ease.

Our programme includes:

Discussion: Why is recruitment important?

The Theory:

  • Equality Act 2010
  • Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006
  • Direct and indirect discrimination
  • Reasonable adjustments
  • Unconscious bias

The Practice

  • Recruitment best practice - the 12 stages of the recruitment process.
  • Deciding whether to recruit?
  • Job descriptions and person specifications
  • Where/how to advertise
  • Writing an advert
  • Selection techniques
  • Shortlisting
  • Effective questioning techniques
  • Interviewing skills
  • Providing candidates with constructive feedback

As part of the course, delegates will have the opportunity to form a selection panel to undertake a shortlisting exercise, prepare questions, interview candidates (professional actors) and make a selection decision.  Feedback will be provided throughout the programme by Fellows of the CIPD.
